Job Summary
Conduct night shift critical care float pool coverage at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, managing adult patients including transplant cases across Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, MICU, CVICU, and SICU. Provide IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management while floating to equivalent or lower acuity units based on staffing and patient acuity. Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications, complete required pre-employment modules, and submit labs within 48 hours of signing. Requires 22 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience, Ohio license, and Epic proficiency. Night shifts run 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 22 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Travel experience is preferred
- Experience with Epic is required
- Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license
- Flu vaccination required after submission
- 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- Teaching hospital experience is required
- IV Start

- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Every other weekend
- 14 days maximum time off
- Start assignment restriction: 7 days
- Will float to different units within the OSU organization as needed, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU
- Floating is limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification required
