Job Summary
Conduct night shift critical care float pool duties at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, managing adult patients including kidney, liver, lung, and heart transplant cases. Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and float to Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, MICU, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU based on staffing needs. Maintain 12-hour shifts three times weekly with every other weekend rotation, ensuring flu vaccination and completing labs within 48 hours of signing. Submit references covering at least one year of specialty experience and provide proof of identification.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 22 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Experience with Epic
- Ohio license or compact license
- Flu vaccination
- Teaching hospital experience
- IV Start
- Telemetry
- Ventilator management experience
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- References covering at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years
- Charge/Lead reference from within the last 2 years
- Manager/Supervisor reference from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification
- 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- No current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- Complete labs within 48 hours of signing
- Floating to different units within the OSU organization as needed, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU, based on staffing and patient acuity
- Floating limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Every other weekend
- 14 days maximum time off
- Start assignment restriction: 7 days
- Adult patient population, including kidney, liver, lung, and heart transplant patients
