Job Summary
Conduct night shift critical care float pool duties across multiple units within the OSU organization, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU, based on staffing and patient acuity. Manage ventilators, perform IV starts, and monitor telemetry for an adult patient population with complex conditions such as kidney, liver, lung, and heart transplant cases. Maintain Ohio licensure, complete required pre-employment modules, and submit lab results within 48 hours of signing. This 17-week travel assignment includes every other weekend rotation, with a maximum of 14 days off and a 7-day start restriction.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 22 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Experience with Epic
- Ohio license or compact license
- Flu vaccination
- 6 months gap between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- Teaching hospital experience
- IV Start
- Telemetry
- Ventilator management experience
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Registered license
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification
- Every other weekend
- 14 days maximum time off
- Start assignment restriction: 7 days
