Job Summary
Conduct night shift critical care float pool duties across Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units, including floating to inpatient floors and patient sitters when ICU census is low. Manage adult and geriatric patients with rare adolescent cases, performing tasks such as vent management, IV starts, telemonitoring, and conscious sedation. Maintain 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratios in ICUs and adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling with holiday rotations. Complete pre-employment modules and labs within 48 hours of signing, providing two charge/lead references from the last two years. This travel-only assignment requires a Missouri license and 12 months of ICU experience, with an auto-offer process requiring a response within 24 hours.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Travel experience
- Missouri license or compact license
- Floating to multiple units
- Live >75 miles from facility
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System
- No current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System
- Complete labs within 48 hours of signing
- 1 year CV ICU experience

- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- Every other weekend required
- 6 weekend shifts per 6 week scheduled
- Holiday rotation
- Floating to multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac / Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID
- Float to inpatient floors as a staff nurse
- Float to non-critical care units if ICU census is low
- Utilized as a patient sitter if needed
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification required

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Epic
- Trauma Level 1 experience
- Cardiac skill set: Swans-hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and vasoactive drips
- CRRT experience
- Triage, ICP, and PA lines
