Job Summary
Conduct night shift critical care float pool duties, rotating through Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units, with potential assignment to inpatient floors or patient sitters when ICU census is low. Manage adult and geriatric patient populations, including rare adolescent patients aged 16-18, while adhering to a 2:1 ICU ratio and floating to inpatient floors at a maximum 1:3 ratio. Complete required certifications including BLS, ACLS, CCRN, and TNCC, and submit all time off requests prior to starting the assignment. This auto-offer travel nursing position requires a Missouri license, 12 months of ICU experience, and involves every other weekend rotations for a 13-week contract.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Travel experience
- Missouri license or compact license
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System
- no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System
- 1 year CV ICU experience
- Vents
- IV start
- Tele
- conscious sedation
- Every other weekend required
- 6 weekend shifts per 6 week scheduled
- holiday rotation
- floating to multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac / Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID
- floating to inpatient floors as a staff nurse
- floating to non-critical care units if ICU census is low
- utilized as a patient sitter if needed
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- ONS (Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification required
- You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Epic
- Trauma Level 1 experience
- Cardiac skill set: Swans-hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and vasoactive drips
- CRRT experience
- Triage, ICP, and PA lines
