Job Summary
Provide critical care float pool coverage across General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU units, managing complex patient populations including STEMI, ECMO, and post-cardiac arrest cases. Operate with advanced equipment such as Impella, Tandem Life, and CRRT while utilizing Plum 360 IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing. Float to like units including MS, ER, and other ICU locations as needed, with no call rotation and every-other weekend scheduling. Maintain a 12-month experience requirement with 24 months in critical care float pool, holding an Alabama license and ACLS/NIHSS/BLS certifications. Submit to the SimpliFi Program at Baptist Health UAB for a 13-week travel assignment at $1940 per week.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Alabama license or compact license
- Must be able to float to multiple units
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
- Cerner or Epic experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- License Type: registered
