Job Summary
Provide critical care float coverage across General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU units, managing complex patient populations including STEMI, ECMO, and post-cardiac arrest cases. Operate advanced equipment such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, and vent management systems while monitoring telemetry strips and administering titratable drips. Float to like units including MS-MS, MS-ICU, and ICU-ER holds, adhering to a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM night shift schedule with every-other-weekend rotation and no call. Maintain Alabama licensure and complete required pre-employment modules for onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Alabama license or compact license
- Must be able to float to multiple units
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
- Cerner or Epic experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- Registered license type
- License State: AL

- Experience with Cerner is preferred
