Job Summary
Provide critical care float coverage across General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU units, managing complex patient populations including STEMI, ECMO, and post-cardiac arrest cases. Utilize specialized equipment such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, and vent management while adhering to strict floating protocols between like units and holds. Operate under a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift with every-other-weekend rotation, no call, and flexible contract hours of 36 or 48 per week. Maintain Alabama licensure and complete required pre-employment modules to expedite onboarding for this 13-week travel assignment at Baptist Health UAB.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Alabama license or compact license
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
- Cerner or Epic experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
