Job Summary
Provide critical care float coverage across General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU units, managing high-acuity patients including STEMI, ECMO, and post-cardiac arrest cases. Operate advanced equipment such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, and vent management while monitoring telemetry strips and administering titratable drips. Float to like units including MS-ICU, ER, and ICU holds, utilizing Cerner or Epic systems. Maintain ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with Alabama licensure. Work night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) every other weekend with no call, earning $1940 per week for a 13-week travel assignment.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience
- Alabama license or compact license
- Must be able to float to multiple units
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
- Cerner or Epic experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Registered license type
- AL license state
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Cerner is preferred
- Experience with Epic is preferred
