Job Summary
Conduct critical care float pool duties covering overflow med surg, oncology, neuro, cardiac, and trauma patients across multiple units. Manage ICU skills including arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips, CVP monitoring, and care for s/p craniotomy and TPA patients. Provide care for overflow and difficult-to-place patients, including those with immunocompromised conditions, end-of-life needs, and chemo infusions. Float to all med surg and critical care areas, including ED boarders, with ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 depending on acuity. Work 12-hour shifts every other weekend with 70% holiday expectation. Requires 24 months of critical care float pool experience, Georgia license, and CCRN certification.
Required Qualifications
- 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months
- Georgia license or compact license
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- 12 months gap required between for Part-Time at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- ICU skills: arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, care for s/p craniotomy patients, and TPA administration
- Knowledge of cardiac drips and care for neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
- Proof of identification
