Job Summary
Conduct critical care float pool duties, managing overflow and difficult-to-place patients across medical-surgical, oncology, neuro, cardiac, and trauma units. Provide care for high-acuity populations including immunocompromised, palliative, and post-craniotomy patients while utilizing equipment like ventilators, CRRT, and cardiac monitors. Float to all med-surg and critical care areas, including ED boarders, adhering to patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:6 depending on acuity. Work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM every other weekend with a 70% holiday expectation. Requires 24 months of critical care float experience, a Georgia license, and certifications in ACLS, CCRN, and TNCC.
Required Qualifications
- 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months
- Georgia license or compact license
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- 12 months gap required between for Part-Time at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- ICU skills: arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, care for s/p craniotomy patients, and TPA administration
- Knowledge of cardiac drips and care for neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
- Proof of identification
