Job Summary
Conduct critical care float pool duties across medical-surgical, neuro, cardiac, and oncology units, managing arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, titratable drips, and care for s/p craniotomy patients. Provide overflow coverage for difficult-to-place med surg, palliative care, and chemo infusion patients while floating to ED boarders and ICU as needed. Work 12-hour shifts rotating 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and every other weekend, with a 70% holiday expectation and rare on-call status during low census. Requires 24 months of critical care float pool experience, a Georgia license, and certifications including CCRN, ACLS, and TNCC.
Required Qualifications
- 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months
- Georgia license or compact license
- ICU skills: arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, care for s/p craniotomy patients, and TPA administration
- Knowledge of cardiac drips and care for neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
