Job Summary
Conduct critical care float pool duties, managing overflow and difficult-to-place patients across medical-surgical, neurology, cardiac, and oncology units. Provide care for complex populations including immunocompromised, end-of-life, and trauma patients while monitoring arrhythmias, sedation, and titratable drips. Float to additional units and locations as needed, adhering to patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:5 in med-surg. Work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM every other weekend with a 70% holiday expectation.
Required Qualifications
- 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months
- Georgia license or compact license
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- 12 months gap required between for Part-Time at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast
- ICU skills: arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, care for s/p craniotomy patients, and TPA administration
- Knowledge of cardiac drips and care for neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
- Proof of identification
