Critical Care Float Nurse / Float RN (ICU)

Job Summary
Provide and supervise patient care on a nursing unit, assess and document Plan of Care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and ensure readiness for discharge. Functions include acting as a preceptor to new staff and serving as Charge Nurse. Demonstrates competency in neuro-focused care, airway management for neuro patients, care of trached patients, and knowledge of the Tia teaching program; performs endotracheal/ tracheostomy suctioning per policy and uses equipment for patient care including ventilator management and halo brace care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred
- 1 Year Neonatal ICU RN experience required
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Neonatal ICU RN experience preferred
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Records/Computerized patient records
- BLS certification
- CT RN license (Connecticut)
- Ability to supervise non-RN personnel
- Experience as Charge Nurse or Preceptor (preferred)
- Neuro patient care skills
- Ventilator management
- Tracheostomy and airway management familiarity
- Halo brace care familiarity
