Critical Care Float Nurse / Float RN (ICU)

Critical Care Float Nurse / Float RN (ICU) provides continuous nursing care on an ICU/Neuro-focused unit under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities include assessing patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions, developing and communicating care plans, coordinating care with the healthcare team, evaluating patient responses and readiness for discharge, planning education for patients and families, and serving as a preceptor and, when needed, charge nurse. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, airway management for neuro patients, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and care for ventilated patients; supports education through the Tia Teaching Program; maintains adherence to unit policies and performance expectations. Requires Connecticut RN license and BLS; BSN preferred. Willingness to work on other nursing units as distribution of staff and patients requires.
