Job Summary
CRITICAL CARE ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER to join Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates for ICU coverage at UPMC Altoona Hospital. APPs will admit and co-manage patients in four ICUs (Medical, Surgical-Trauma, Cardiovascular, Neurovascular) under direct supervision of intensivist physicians, participate in medical decision making, and perform critical care procedures including intubation, bronchoscopy, chest tubes, central lines and arterial lines. 24-hour service model with 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm and 7pm–7am) on a rotating schedule; full-time, permanent; paid mentoring/training available. Benefits include malpractice and health insurance, 401K, CME. Located in Altoona, PA within the UPMC system.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed/Certified Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) with ICU experience preferred
- ACLS/critical care certification may be implied by ICU role
- Supervision by intensivist physicians with ability to admit and co-manage ICU patients
- Experience performing critical care procedures (intubation, bronchoscopy, chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines) is indicated in description
- Full-time, permanent position in a team-oriented collaborative environment
- Mentoring and training provided as needed
