Job Summary
Crisis Worker position in a residential setting providing support to individuals experiencing non-imminent mental health crises. Responsibilities include admitting participants, orienting them to facility routines, monitoring health changes, counseling to support personal and treatment goals, assisting with ADL skills and finances, and coordinating with rehabilitation/treatment teams to plan and link services. The role requires high school diploma or equivalency with 3 years of mental health direct care experience (or equivalent), knowledge of mental health systems and privacy guidelines, strong written and verbal communication, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible hours including on-call shifts. Local travel is required and may include participation in emergency responses and participant transportation. Horizon House offers competitive benefits and retirement plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 3 years of mental health direct care experience or equivalent experience/education
- Knowledge of mental health systems and supports
- Knowledge of privacy regulations about access, use, and disclosure
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Flexibility for 24-hour on-call coverage
- Local travel and possible emergency work
