Job Summary
Provide trauma-informed, compassionate care to children and young people in local authority care; build trusting relationships and create positive daily routines; support education, life skills and independence; prepare meals and promote healthy lifestyles; advocate for young people and ensure their voices are heard; support medical appointments and community activities; transport young people using your own vehicle when required; encourage confidence, resilience, and belief in their future.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car
- Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
- Flexibility to work waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins
- A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Desirable NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care
