Job Summary
Provide trauma-informed, compassionate care to vulnerable children and young people in local authority care, building positive relationships, promoting healthy routines, preparing meals, supporting education and life skills, and advocating for the child’s voice. You will transport young people when needed using your own vehicle, participate in safeguarding activities and DBS checks, and contribute to planning for their future within a 24/7 wraparound support framework. The role emphasizes resilience, empathy, flexible scheduling (including nights and weekends), and the ability to support medical appointments and community activities while delivering stable, nurturing environments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
- A full UK driver’s licence and your own car
- Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
- A flexible approach (waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins when required)
- A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete one)
Desired Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent (desirable)
- Full UK driver’s licence
- Own car
- Trauma-informed care experience
- Flexible schedule including waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins when required
