Crisis Support Specialist

Job Summary
Assist nurses with group and individual activities, including setup and cleanup, while maintaining safety for staff and high-risk consumers. Listen to consumers, report observations for progress notes, and complete paperwork for various duties. Coordinate activities and participate in recreational events, demonstrating awareness in a high-risk environment by following detailed procedures. Provide support in verbal and physical interventions, assist with Care Plans, and handle basic cooking, cleaning, and supply coordination. Execute diverse tasks quickly as demands change. Requires flexibility for hours and ability to lift 50 pounds; 10% travel time.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- General skill in exercising independent judgment, tact, patience, and understanding
- Availability to work flexible hours
- Must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have the ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
- Ability to use telephone, PC, fax machine, copy machine, and printer
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with adults with mental illness in a community setting and/or community mental health agency
