Crisis Response Technician

Job Summary

Respond in a timely manner to all requests for crisis intervention, triage phone calls, and route them based on needs and preliminary risk assessments. Provide comprehensive crisis counseling and safety planning for clients while facilitating inpatient admissions, emergency detention orders, and apprehend and return orders. Coordinate Crisis Response Team interventions and arrange urgent assessments with Aspire providers or referral partners. Maintain relationships with first responders, dispatchers, and hospitals, and monitor psychiatric bed availability in the community. Participate in a 24-hour on-call crisis team as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must live in Indiana
  • High School Diploma required
  • Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license
  • current auto insurance
  • a driving record that meets the requirements of the organization
  • Drug screen
  • TB test
  • extensive background checks (including Criminal History, Sex Offender Registry Search, State Central Registry Check, Education Verification, and Professional References)

Desired Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of related experience preferred
  • May self-identify as a current or former recipient of services, and/or a family member of an individual who was a recipient of services, and be maintaining a healthy recovery from mental illness and/or substance use to qualify for the peer track
  • Knowledge of community resources, referral processes and risk assessments preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model highly recommended
  • All individuals who join Aspire are strongly encouraged to have a flu shot and to be fully vaccinated against COVID19 prior to joining Aspire
