Crisis Response Hospital Liaison

The Crisis Response Hospital Liaison provides daytime response to mental health crisis calls at the Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center, delivering emergency crisis intervention, defining presenting concerns, obtaining medical history, initiating appropriate services, and facilitating entry into crisis respite facilities when appropriate. Responsibilities include making face-to-face crisis responses within stated timeframes, filing Emergency Detention applications, exercising clinical judgment in crisis situations, acting as a fill-in for nighttime crisis workers, maintaining thorough documentation, ensuring Medicaid and state compliance, and developing positive relationships with law enforcement, judiciary and hospital personnel. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, the ability to obtain QMHP certification within 6 months, a Texas driver's license with appropriate insurance and driving record, background checks and drug screening, and may involve on-call hours and travel to various sites. Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, HIPAA, EHR, community resources, and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential.
