Job Summary
Monitor all student environments, anticipating and employing de-escalation techniques to address disruptive behaviors while skillfully applying verbal and nonverbal strategies. Process Behavioral Intervention Data Sheets by proofreading forms, obtaining signatures, and communicating with parents to resolve concerns. Review digitally recorded footage for training and troubleshooting, perform appropriate restraint techniques or remove students as needed, and communicate with transportation staff regarding bus behavior reports. Interact regularly with classroom staff, social workers, and leadership, assist in classrooms when others are absent, and serve as a crisis intervention technique trainer.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a program for individuals with behavioral and/or emotional needs
- Basic CPI certification
- Advanced CPI certification
- COVID-19 vaccination
- Negative nicotine test
- Negative marijuana test
