Job Summary
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Co-Responder collaborates with law enforcement to provide mobile crisis intervention services and connection to behavioral health services. Responsibilities include engaging and assessing individuals in crisis, conducting lethality risk assessments, providing referrals, and maintaining community partnerships. Candidates must be a Qualified Mental Health Professional with a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, possess state licensure, and demonstrate proficiency in crisis intervention, electronic health records, and compliance with quality care initiatives. A valid driver’s license and transportation are required.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- Specialized training or one year of experience in treating or working with a person who has a mental illness
- State licensure: various forms of Social Worker and Counselor licenses, or Limited-Licensed Psychologist
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft office products
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHRs)
- Working knowledge and understanding of mental illness and treatment interventions
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships
- Valid and unrestricted Driver’s License
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a community mental health setting.
- Prior experience in the law enforcement and/or criminal justice system.
- Prior experience working with substances use disorder (SUD) population.
