Job Summary
Crisis Counseling Outreach Worker provides direct outreach and counseling services to disaster-affected individuals, delivering face-to-face and telephonic support, assessing emotional needs, referring to traditional behavioral health services, connecting individuals with community resources, and training partners on disaster reactions and CCP services. Duties include data entry into the CCP online Data Collection and Evaluation System, coordinating with teams to ensure coverage, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires the ability to work in a team, manage stressful situations, and utilize Microsoft Office tools; a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or Texas-approved nursing program is preferred, with QMHP/QDDP credentials preferred. The role is a temporary grant-funded position with potential shift flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or Texas approved nursing program preferred
- Certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and/or Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) preferred
- Qualified peer support may be considered
- Valid Texas Driver License
- Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
- Must be insurable on the Center’s insurance
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to complete all MHMR Concho Valley training

- Convictions related to sexual assault, aggravated assault, drug-related offense, murder, theft, battery, or any crime involving personal injury may make you ineligible for employment in positions in direct contact with consumers of MHMR Services for the Concho Valley.
