Job Summary
Respond to crisis chats, texts, and phone calls to provide emotional support, conduct suicide risk assessments, and develop safety plans for individuals in distress. Gather demographic information to determine appropriate resources, offer referrals to community services, and complete mandated reporting for suspected abuse or neglect. Provide information and advocacy support while ensuring confidentiality and maintaining required documentation. Handle imminent risk situations by contacting emergency services and confirm outcomes using approved intervention models. Offer and complete follow-up services for at-risk individuals, survivors, and third-party contacts as assigned. Utilize supervisory consultation for guidance and participate in required trainings to maintain performance and quality standards. Work remotely after initial training, with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Reside in Oklahoma
- High school diploma or GED
- Fluent in spoken, written, and reading communication in English
- Ability to work independently with confidence while also collaborating effectively as part of a professional team
- Excellent communication, computer literacy, time management, attention to detail, and multitasking skills
- Demonstrates a compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach when assisting individuals with diverse and complex needs
- Ability to handle and manage stress due to the scope and type of crisis contacts received
- Reliable and flexible, with willingness to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with schedules adjusted as needed to meet coverage requirements
- Physically able to lift 20 pounds, sit for long periods of time, talk on the telephone, and bend/stoop
- Some evenings/weekend work required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in mental health, crisis intervention, counseling, psychology, a loss survivor, working with youth or LGBTQA, or community non-profit
