Job Summary
Conduct initial and follow-up clinical risk assessments for patients with behavioral health stressors in the emergency room and hospital floors. Formulate provisional dispositions, clinical summaries, and after-care plans while managing de-escalation interventions and re-assessments for identified treatment targets. Complete required documentation for involuntary and voluntary admissions, coordinate transfers to specialized units, and facilitate family intervention and psychoeducation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, medical providers, and social work to develop treatment goals and discharge plans. Assist with remote assessments for additional crisis sites and contribute to departmental quality and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in and completion of, with passing score, of New Jersey Mental Health Basic Screening Certification Series within one year of hire
- Maintenance of active NJ Mental Health Certification by completing continued education requirements specifically approved by The Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care Technical Assistance Center (UBHC-TAC)
- Complete assigned departmental competencies and continuing education requirements as assigned and within the timeframe required
