Job Summary

30-hour-per-week in-person role at the Crisis Center in Grand Rapids, MI, providing Recovery Coach or Peer Support services as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist clients in behavioral health crisis and access to substance use disorder services. Recovery Coach will model recovery competency and coping skills within the Crisis Center environment (Brief Intervention Clinic and Crisis Stabilization Unit). Peer Support Specialist will help clients understand and utilize mental health and substance use services. Requires High School diploma or GED, 18+, and either State of Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach or eligibility to certify within 90 days. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work across diverse communities. Position scheduled Friday–Sunday, 7:00am–5:00pm, in-person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • At least two years of relevant work experience; may include volunteer work
  • Actively working in a recovery program (12-step, church/spiritual, or other recovery support group)
  • State of Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach or be eligible and obtain certification within ninety (90) days of hire
  • Long-term, stable recovery from alcohol and other drugs; able to identify with clients to promote recovery
  • Personal experience with navigating complex substance use treatment services or mental health treatment services
  • Knowledge about substance use disorders as it pertains to recovery and crisis planning
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and bridge language/cultural barriers to Network180 services
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic health records)
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with clients and team members
  • Ability to perform essential duties in a 30-hour per week in-person role
