Job Summary
The Crisis Case Worker provides mental health treatment and family therapy to youths with serious behavioral and emotional problems within the MST-Psychiatric Program. Responsibilities include conducting safety checks, home assessments, providing crisis support, attending multidisciplinary meetings, and assisting families in accessing community resources. The ideal candidate will have casework experience, knowledge of behavioral therapies, and a strong understanding of the Juvenile Justice System, along with a commitment to non-traditional working hours.
Required Qualifications
- Case work experience with families in a community-based setting
- Experience working with hospitals, schools, and court systems
- Ability to work as a team member
- Management of suicidal or homicidal threats and family safety risks
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual a plus
- Knowledge and experience in the Juvenile Justice System
- Knowledge of behavioral therapies theory and application
- Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health
