Crisis Assistance Program Program Coordinator

Job Summary

Coordinate energy assistance program operations by contacting utility companies to arrange payment pledges via phone, fax, or email. Process client requests for rental, mortgage, and eviction assistance by verifying documentation, determining compliance, and preparing check requests through Microix or current software. Manage daily correspondence by answering phones, routing mail, and sending denial letters to Tribal Members while maintaining strict confidentiality. Input program activity data into the database and assist in researching fraudulent requests for potential law enforcement referral. Compile resource lists for energy management, affordable housing, and food banks. Perform accurate data entry and create interoffice memos as requested by the Program Lead or Director.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of progressively responsible administrative support experience with Tribal assistance programs
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate experience and intermediate knowledge using word processing
  • Intermediate experience and intermediate knowledge using spreadsheets
  • Ability to interact tactfully and positively with Tribal members, all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, employees and groups of people
  • Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers including decimals
  • Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to coordinate with team members and other levels of colleagues
  • Ability to prioritize the importance of requests and process them timely and accurately

  • May occasionally require work after hours or on weekend

  • Requires occasional out of area travel using employee's own transportation

  • Position may be stressful at times due to the sensitive or confidential issues being addressed
  • Must provide 3+ references
