Job Summary
Answer the 24-hour hotline and provide comprehensive service support for domestic and sexual violence victims. Respond to hospitals for incoming victims and conduct shelter assessments, intakes, and orientations. Offer crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to legal, medical, and housing resources while documenting all interactions. Collaborate with law enforcement and medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines. Complete mandatory 2-week in-person training and attend regular meetings. Available for overnight shifts from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., including Friday and Saturday, with a requirement to respond to in-person requests within 30 minutes. Compensation includes a $150 stipend per shift plus $21.00/hr for actual time worked.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human services, criminal justice or related field, or Associate's Degree with 2 years of relevant work history
- Previous experience in providing advocacy, social work, human services, or other supportive services
- Must have a reliable vehicle for travel within Dauphin and Perry Counties with valid driver's license
- Must reside within 30 minutes of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg
- FBI, Child Abuse, and State Police Clearances
- Must be available to respond to calls and provide in-person support that may extend beyond 8:00 a.m. if engaged in a response with a survivor
- Must be able to attend a mandatory 2-week in-person training program Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Must be available for the overnight shift from 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- Minimum requirement of at least 3 shifts per week; including Friday and Saturday overnights
