Job Summary
Instruct high school students in Criminal Justice within a Career Technical Education (CTE) framework, covering the functions, organization, and history of criminal justice agencies and laws; integrate OSHA safety regulations; supervise field experiences such as externships/cooperative education; maintain student performance records and communications with guardians; accommodate diverse learners (IEP/504) and collaborate with the CTE department and community partners; prepare students for relevant certifications (e.g., 911 Dispatchers, OSHA, CPR, First Aid) and stay current with professional standards; emphasize constitutional law fundamentals, ethics, diversity, and practical knowledge across criminal justice disciplines; leverage technology in curriculum and participate in school-wide activities and advisory boards.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Chapter 74 Licensure in Criminal Justice or be eligible to attain a preliminary vocational-technical DESE teacher license
- Associate degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught
- Four years of full-time employment experience (within the last seven years) directly related to the criminal justice field
- Passing Score on the written criminal justice test and criminal justice performance exam
- High School Diploma
- SEI Endorsement OR ability to achieve SEI endorsement within three years of hire
Desired Qualifications
