Crime Victims Case Manager

Job Summary
Conduct intakes and assess needs of survivors of gender-based violence using a client-centered, trauma-informed approach. Deliver services including safety planning, crisis intervention, court accompaniment, and victim advocacy while providing information and referrals to legal, social, and mental health services. Build relationships with local agencies, participate in domestic violence committees, and regularly assess client safety and well-being. Maintain digital records of direct services and submit monthly reports. Engage in community outreach, education, and training seminars to enhance clinical skills. Attend case supervision, conferences, and staff meetings. Work four days in the office with one remote on-call day, requiring flexibility for program needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree in Human Services
- Passion for URI's mission, vision and core values with the ability to communicate this passion to others
- Must possess a demonstrated ability in delivering client services including communication and listening skills, understanding of human interaction and personality development, the ability to write and record case documentation, and demonstrated skills in group counseling
- Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
- Exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking, communications and written skills, and the ability to develop positive and productive relationships
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to be flexible with work schedule due to program needs
- Acknowledge and application of self-care and work-life balance for self and others
- Work schedule includes four days working in the office and one day working from home, with the remote day serving as the on-call day
- Flexibility is required to meet on-site demands throughout the week
- Will be required to read printed and handwritten materials
- Will be required to manipulate the computer mouse and keyboard
- Will be required to read information on computer screen
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to enter information in digital forms and spreadsheets
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of case management experience preferred victims of domestic violence
- Strong commitment to equity and social justice including a focus on self-awareness and engagement of continuous learning around issues of diversity equity and inclusion; high level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
- Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly and individuals with mental health issues
