Job Summary
Crime Victim Domestic Violence Advocate provides trauma-informed, culturally centered advocacy for victims of crime within NYPD precincts; partners with police personnel, Safe Horizon, and city agencies to deliver outreach, advocacy, and support. Responsibilities include entering client information into the Case Management System, conducting roll-call trainings with the NYPD, coordinating with GVSP and Hate Crimes Task Force, delivering community presentations, identifying high-risk cases, facilitating housing access and safeguarding resources, assisting with compensation through the NYS Office of Victim Services, and navigating housing systems such as NYCHA and HPD. This role requires travel for in-person Safe Horizon meetings and trainings, and may involve occasional evenings or weekend hours. Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training/experience; two years’ crime victim service delivery or relevant experience; bilingual ability may be required; flexibility in schedule.
