Job Summary
Provide trauma-informed, client-centered advocacy and support for victims of crime, with a focus on domestic violence and hate/crimes, in collaboration with NYPD personnel. Responsibilities include coordinating with police and city agencies, conducting outreach and trainings, assisting victims with compensation applications (OVS), housing navigation, safety assessments, and cross-system advocacy to connect clients with housing, legal, medical, and social services; travel to precincts/PSA as needed and engagement with community partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent training or experience
- Two years’ experience in crime victim service delivery, or other relevant experience
- Knowledge of the police, criminal justice and housing system helpful
