Job Summary
Crime Victim Domestic Violence Advocate supports NYPD and Safe Horizon by providing trauma-informed, culturally centered advocacy and services to crime victims, with a focus on domestic violence cases. The role includes outreach to victims, data entry into the Case Management System, collaboration with NYPD personnel and city agencies, conducting roll-call trainings and community presentations, coordinating with GVSP and Hate Crimes Task Force, assisting victims with compensation and housing access, and maintaining timely, coordinated support for high-risk cases. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training/experience) and at least two years of crime victim service experience; bilingual ability may be required; occasional evenings/weekends may be needed. The position is full-time and based in Manhattan, NY, with on-site work guidance and remote-work tech considerations as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent training or experience
- Two years’ experience in crime victim service delivery, or other relevant experience
- Knowledge of the police, criminal justice and housing system helpful
