Job Summary
Monitor site CCTV systems proactively and retrospectively to detect dishonesty, identify stock loss trends, and record events accurately. Serve as a central communication hub during major incidents, liaising with command teams while providing calm support to affected staff. Monitor global risk intelligence software and media sources to identify emerging threats and escalate fraudulent activity. Respond to direct calls for service from retail stores and field teams, creating detailed intelligence packages for internal stakeholders and external law enforcement agencies. Submit clear reports and handle evidential material meticulously to ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies. Handle telephone and email enquiries, assist with training new team members, and consistently meet performance standards and SLAs set by the Crime Centre Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Comprehensive experience operating CCTV systems
- Excellent standard of general IT skills (including Microsoft and Google suites)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient under pressure or when dealing with distressed callers
- High attention to detail
- Ability to listen, interpret complex information, complete comprehensive reports, and identify patterns in stock loss or data
- Strong understanding of the critical need for confidentiality, data protection (GDPR), and professional integrity when handling sensitive information
- Proven ability to work proactively on your own initiative
- Capability to collaborate within a team
- Capability to prioritise heavy workloads
- Capability to make sound decisions under minimal supervision
- Readiness to work flexible shift patterns (including nights, weekends, and bank holidays)
