Job Summary
Support the academic growth and success of youth by providing homework assistance, reinforcing academic concepts, and leading enrichment activities in a positive learning environment. Actively supervise members, support positive behavior using established Success Plans, and maintain a safe, welcoming facility. Encourage critical thinking and independent learning while modeling Club values of excellence and good character. Communicate daily updates, concerns, and incidents to the supervisor at the end of each shift. Attend required monthly all-staff meetings, bi-weekly one-on-one meetings, and team meetings to collaborate on performance goals. Work collaboratively with the Learning Lead to ensure youth reach their full potential as productive citizens.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous work with elementary-aged children
- Commitment to working five days a week
- Must understand, implement, and demonstrate behavior management principles and other youth treatment modalities
- Must be able to provide leadership, on-the-spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to assigned employees
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, classroom teachers at your assigned school site, etc., at the Club to ensure the safety of the space and others
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods throughout a shift
- Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
