Job Summary
Crew Leader provides support and coaching to a tree-care crew to achieve production goals, identifies safety hazards, ensures OSHA compliance, and assigns and prioritizes tasks on the job site under the General Foreperson. Responsibilities include coaching on policies and safety practices, conducting safety training and pre-job briefings, applying herbicides as needed and maintaining application records, obtaining property-owner access, coordinating with customers, supervising climbing and ground-based tree-care work with equipment (including bucket lifts and PPE), performing inspections for hazards, maintaining timesheets and work orders, interpreting maps and drawings, setting up traffic control, and maintaining client relations and overall crew performance in line with company procedures and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on tree trimming or clearing crews or completion of applicable skills assessments
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- First-Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Valid driver's license and DOT medical card (depending on division) could be required by division and client requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain herbicide application certification as required by local law
- Ability to read and understand maps and job orders; knowledge of ANSI Z133.1 and ANSI A300 safety standards
