Job Summary
Underground Crew Leader responsible for supervising and training a crew in the construction, maintenance, and repair of energized underground electrical distribution systems. Lead and train lower skilled employees, conduct pre-job and tailgate briefings, troubleshoot underground circuit issues, and ensure safe work practices including proper PPE usage. Requires knowledge of underground distribution, voltage identification, grounding procedures, phasing, conduit/duct banks, and the ability to coordinate and inspect crew work. Role involves performing rigorous physical labor, traveling as needed, maintaining vehicles/tools, and adhering to company safety rules; CDL required and occasional extended hours/overtime expected.
Required Qualifications
- CDL with safe driving
- Ability to travel long distances on short notice
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Able to work outside in inclement weather
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays
- Ability to supervise and train crew members
- Knowledge of underground distribution systems and safety procedures
- Capable of identifying voltage and testing/working with PPE
- Capable of planning safe work from job prints or work orders
