Job Summary
Crew Lead responsible for directing a construction-site traffic-control team to ensure safe movement around the work zone. Responsibilities include setting up, maintaining, and removing temporary work zones with warning signs and cones; directing traffic according to DOT regulations; ensuring daily testing and inspection of tools and equipment; keeping the company vehicle and PPE in compliant condition; managing paperwork and inventory; communicating with contractors for clarity and coordination; and working extended hours as needed. Requires minimum six months of Crew Lead experience, ATSSA or VDOT Basic Certification (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, ability to work in all weather, stand for long periods, lift up to 55 pounds occasionally, maintain safety compliance, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum six months of Crew Lead experience
- Must be ATSSA or VDOT Basic Certified or hold an equivalent or higher certification
- Must have a valid driver’s license with minimal traffic violations
- Flagger Certification (Required)
- Must be able to work in all temperatures and weather conditions
- Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis, and up to 10 pounds on a continuous basis
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Be willing to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.
- Must be physically capable to perform all flagging duties
