Job Summary
Directs and participates in construction and maintenance of grounds and facility buildings, with emphasis on irrigation maintenance, repair, and seasonal staff supervision. Handles day-to-day irrigation system tasks including course watering and repair, while assisting in cultural practices like spiking, top-dressing, aerification, fertilization, and spraying. Performs brush and tree removal, trains in chainsaw usage, and effectively supervises one or two individuals while operating equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and excavators. Communicates with superintendents regarding small course project teams and rough mowing. Assists with course mowing of greens, tees, fairways, and rough, plus other setup duties. Requires a valid driver's license and pesticide application license; available to work weekends and holidays as needed, typically consisting of one weekend day and four weekdays during the season.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (AA)
- six months to one year of related experience
- related training
- Valid driver's license
- Pesticide Application License
- ability to attain a Pesticide Application License
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be a motivator
- general eagerness to learn and grow
- Ability to read and speak English
