Crew Chief-Surveying

Job Summary
Recognize hazards and communicate danger zones to surveying crews while planning and executing work with minimal supervision. Manage field crew activities, perform construction layout from electronic plans, and create as-builts, topographical, and boundary surveys. Operate Trimble Robotic Total Station instruments, interpret shop drawings, and perform material calculations and field stake-outs for roads, bridges, and buildings. Train less experienced employees and coordinate work with other trades, maintaining detailed field notes and coding labor hours. Requires prior experience in commercial or civil environments, proficiency with AutoCAD and Trimble Access software, and ability to work night shifts. Located in Port Washington, WI.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working on new construction projects in commercial, civil, or marine environments
- Must understand look ahead schedules and job sequences
- Intermediate computer skills (AutoCAD, blue beam, excel)
- Prior experience using Trimble Robotic Total Station with Trimble Access software
- Proficient utilizing an engineer calculator
- Understand construction terminology
- Basic Mathematics skills
- Must identify and utilize common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, laser level, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)
- Proven commitment to Safety
- Work in an organized manner
- Able to work night shifts when needed
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Minimum age 18+
- Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
