Job Summary
Conduct land surveys, field stake-outs, and construction layout operations using Trimble Robotic Total Stations and electronic plans. Manage surveying crew activities, recognize hazards, and coordinate work with other trades while performing material calculations and taking detailed field notes. Create as-builts and topographical surveys, train less experienced employees, and ensure accurate labor hour coding. Operate surveying instruments and interpret shop drawings to execute work with minimum supervision. Work night shifts as needed and perform heavy lifting in various environments. Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working on new construction projects in commercial, civil, or marine environments
- Must understand look ahead schedules and job sequences
- Intermediate computer skills (AutoCAD, blue beam, excel)
- Prior experience using Trimble Robotic Total Station with Trimble Access software
- Proficient utilizing an engineer calculator
- Understand construction terminology
- Basic Mathematics skills
- Must identify and utilize common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, laser level, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)
- Proven commitment to Safety
- Work in an organized manner
- Able to work night shifts when needed
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Minimum age 18+
- Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
