Job Summary
Crew Chief to lead surveying teams in the field, overseeing operations, ensuring accuracy, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with project managers/clients. Requires hands-on field work with total stations, GPS, and data collectors; responsibilities include conducting boundary/topographic surveys, construction staking, preparing field notes/reports, and maintaining safety and equipment. Demonstrated leadership with at least 3 years in a Crew Chief role and 5+ years in land surveying; must drive a company vehicle and meet OSHA safety requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and independent-work skills desired.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying
- 3 years as a Crew Chief
- valid driver’s license with no infractions for 3+ years
- proficiency with surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, data collectors)
- experience with boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking
- ability to interpret survey data and prepare notes/reports
- ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients
- OSHA safety regulations proficiency
- willingness to enroll in OSHA and other programs
- ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 75 lbs
- strong work ethic and reliability
