Job Summary
Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess the creditworthiness of commercial borrowers and guarantors. Prepare detailed analytical reports including historical data, cash flow projections, and industry research to evaluate repayment sources and overall credit strengths. Communicate key findings to business bankers and management while exercising independent judgment on client relationships. Monitor credit files for covenant compliance and assist in training junior underwriters. Participate in departmental projects and attend joint calls with commercial bankers to gather business information. Adhere to federal and state regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Community Reinvestment Act, while performing duties in accordance with company policies.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in credit analysis/credit underwriting in a commercial lending environment
- Must possess sound underwriting experience in the healthcare services sector
- Must possess proven ability to successfully understand and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and tax returns
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess strong business math skills
- Must possess proven ability to think critically and communicate results concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Must possess ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Must have ability to work collaboratively by finding common ground to solve problems with the ability to represent his/her own opinion
- Must remain educated and informed on industry trends, market conditions and regulatory requirements and actively work to develop professionally
- Must be bondable
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or similar field, in lieu of a degree, applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have been in this discipline a minimum of 10+ years
