Credit Officer, Vice President - Community Development Real Estate

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end risk analysis of affordable housing transactions, including development budgets, sources and uses, and project economics; prepare, present, and defend comprehensive credit packages to senior management and credit committees; coordinate and manage transaction closings, driving timelines and documentation; monitor credit risk throughout construction and lease-up; manage an active loan portfolio with construction draws and covenant tracking; establish risk analysis standards and best practices; collaborate with Legal, Portfolio Management, Risk, Operations, Tax Credit teams and external partners; conduct site visits and present to leadership with data-driven guidance; maintain meticulous documentation across systems to support controls, audits, and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in community development real estate lending or investing with a focus on affordable housing
- Underwriting expertise in LIHTC, subordinate/public subsidy layers, and construction/permanent financing structures
- Proven leadership with cross-functional influence
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Track record of managing multiple transactions and deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer service
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Commitment to CRA mission and familiarity with community impact goals
