Job Summary
The Credit Officer will underwrite high-dollar, complex credit opportunities and provide independent recommendations on loan structures and ongoing monitoring. Responsibilities include reading and analyzing diverse financial statements, preparing financial spreads and credit memos, performing cash flow and collateral analyses, assessing borrower and guarantor risk, and communicating findings for loan decisions. The role involves mentoring credit analysts, meeting with customers, and ensuring adherence to Loan Policy and regulatory requirements. Travel to Choice Bank offices may be required. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of Commercial/ Agricultural credit analysis experience; proficiency in financial analysis, risk assessment, and loan-structure recommendations is essential. This is a full-time senior-position with potential for collaboration across lending teams and participation in credit committee discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7-10 years of experience as a Commercial or Agricultural Credit Analyst
- Proficient in financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and collateral evaluation
- Strong understanding of loan policy, banking regulations, and risk rating systems
- Demonstrated ability to independently underwrite complex credit requests
- Skilled in preparing comprehensive credit memos and presenting recommendations
- Effective communicator with ability to collaborate across credit and lending teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with government-guaranteed loan products (SBA)
