Job Summary
Lead the credit and collections function by managing accounts receivable performance, mitigating credit risk, and developing collection strategies across multiple locations. Coach the Credit and Collections team to achieve departmental goals while overseeing invoice collections and resolving customer account issues. Analyze accounts receivable trends to improve turnover and reduce days sales outstanding, and monitor Prelim software to ensure compliance with lien laws and waivers. Partner with branch leadership and sales teams to resolve disputes, enforce credit policies, and prepare financial reports for senior management. Manage 25% travel on a Monday–Friday hybrid schedule. SouthernCarlson serves contractors and builders nationwide with a focus on reliability and performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 5+ years of progressive experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or financial management
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing credit, collections, or accounting personnel
- Background in the construction, industrial, distribution, or building materials industry preferred. Knowledge of lien laws, Preliminary Notices, waivers etc
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit practices, risk assessment, accounts receivable management, and collection strategies
- High attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Self-motivated leader with a high level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
- Must be available for 25% travel
- Monday – Friday schedule

- Experience with ERP systems and accounts receivable management software preferred
