Job Summary
Review and adjudicate small business and high net worth Member loan applications within assigned credit limits, providing independent objective approvals and communicating rationales to management. Conduct due diligence on credit requests, including financial analysis and collateral evaluation, while ensuring compliance with DUCA's risk appetite and policies. Monitor market conditions and regulatory changes to recommend enhancements to credit procedures, and support the Lending Team by resolving escalated issues and structuring deals for approval.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field
- Equivalent work experience with small businesses and / or high net worth lending within the financial industry
- Minimum 4-6 years Business Banking and / or high net worth lending underwriting / adjudicating experience
- Minimum 4 years knowledge of financial statement analysis
- Financial Statement analysis experience
- Sound credit judgement with demonstrated ability to understand the risk return trade-off and come up with well thought-out solutions to mitigate credit risk
- Ability to articulate complex credit applications into succinct and balanced recommendations
- Knowledge of various due diligence reports related to investment and insurance lending (Insurance Policies, Insurance Discussion Papers, Financial Statements, Tax Documents, Investment Statements, Pension Statements, etc.)
- Understanding of commitment letters and other legal documents from a credit perspective
- Understanding of Business Banking and high net worth banking/lending practices and end-to-end credit process
- Understanding and knowledge of Commercial credit
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to organize business information and develop it into cohesive, professional reports and presentations
- Analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Highly developed critical thinking, problem-solving capabilities and excellent project management, planning, organizational, and time management skills with ability to handle complex multi-task assignments
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products, including Excel
- Experience working with a banking software
